Hello dear readers,
I recently sat down to ask a lot of great questions to Baron, the current Minister of Defense for Germany, and he gave us some incredibly insightful answers.
Without further ado, let’s dive directly into the interview!
Q: Who is Baron in real life? Please introduce yourself as far as your privacy allows.
A: Hi, first of all, thank you for inviting me to this interview 🙂 My real name is Ali Rıza. I am a single engineer living in western Turkey (Aegean region).
Q: How would you describe your character in eDominations? When and why did you join, and what is your overall history in the game?
A: I first heard this game in another game called erev1. (I was playing there with a few friends.) Then, in 2020, we came here together. They quit the game shortly after and I continued alone. Then the Scandinavian Union was formed here. I played for a long time with some players who are currently playing in Slovenia (e.g., Thylen, desreveR, Flash Baron and many others...). We were a team gathered from different countries and achieved great success. In 2023, I quit the game of my own accord. Then I received a message on Discord from an old friend named Kaveh... And yes, the story began again 🙂
Q: You mentioned you used to play for Sweden. What are your best and worst memories from your time there?
A: Yes, I played in Sweden for a long time. A long time ago, I played in Denmark with a famous army called Kumangaard and participated in many successful operations. After that, it was a second experience in a Nordic country for me. I dont have any bad memories of Sweden. We formed a great Nordic alliance and fought some fantastic battles. Thanks to everyone who was there.
Q: Is it true that you are from Turkey? If so, why dont you play for your own country?
A: Yes, I am Turkish. Firstly, its important to remember that these types of games are usually played by the same people. If a game is popular and has a good number of active players, people transfer to it. This means that your experiences in previous games affect your subsequent experiences. Ive had serious fights with many Turkish players before. Personally, I play this game for fun and to make friends from different countries. A toxic environment where fights happen every day and people insult each others families is not for me. I dont want to be in Turkey and the people there dont want me in Turkey either.
Q: How do you feel about playing in Germany, considering it is a very small country in-game?
A: I came to Germany at my friends invitation. Playing in a small country isnt a problem for me at all. My life is built on building many things from zero. Achieving things step by step is very enjoyable. In the previous game, I was both an alliance leader and president in many countries. I think I might be the only Turk to have been president of Turkey, Greece, and Canada, and even the largest party in Serbia (erev1) hahah. In this game, I was president of Germany while Kaveh didnt have the internet (for 3 months). It was very enjoyable as a one-person country. I hope people enjoyed the articles I published about Croatias journey to being wiped off the map 😄
Q: What do you think of your real-world homeland and its in-game citizens?
A: I dont know everyone there but from what Ive seen in the battles, they have many strong players. Ive also seen a few really powerful accounts playing outside of Turkey. One of them is busy planning a coup in Colombia haha
Q: What is your take on Iran and its players, and what is your opinion on their relationship with the current Turkish government?
A: Firstly, its interesting that Iran has a Spanish woman president 🙃 In these kinds of games, Iran is generally an ally of Turkey. Both countries tactics, both in real life and in the game, are: We must get along well with the greatest potential power on our border. Then we can start the wars we want or get the bonuses on the other side of the border. A war between the two countries is a dead end where neither wins. Therefore, whether they like each other or not, it seems we will frequently see these two countries as allies. (The fact that Iranians havent been active for a long time wont change this reality.)
Q: You used to be an active member of the Lazokrats. Do they still play eDominations? If not, why did they leave, and is there any chance they might return?
A: Actually, Im not a member of the Lazocrats. But some people came to that conclusion because I played with an old Lazocrat friend. I thought they were cool 🙂 Lazocracy est imperare orbi universo!
Q: What do you think of Kaveh?
A: Kaveh might be one of the most original characters Ive met in this game. Hes truly amazing. I have to confess something interesting: Years ago, when I played the previous game, my English wasnt very good. I was terrible at voice chat especially. One evening, I tried to talk to Kaveh and a few other friends (I remember a Pakistani guy living in the UK, a Swedish, and a Slovenian friend) in a discord voice chat channel. I was really bad but Kaveh encouraged me. (By the way, Kaveh knows a little Turkish :P) Now I can talk to Kaveh about anything. Despite our age difference, we get along very well. I also have to say hes incredibly generous. He gave back everything he earned with my referral gold in this game. If anyone is interested, I recommend contacting him 🙂 Judging by the angry pink bird in his profile picture, you shouldnt be in front of him when he gets angry, but after all, birds also have a naive heart hehe Finally, may God bless him and his mother with all the best ❤️
Q: What are your biggest regrets regarding eDominations, and what are your highest hopes for the games future?
A: My biggest regret is starting this game haha. Because its addictive. Edominations is like a cigarette break for our eyes. Id say this game is pretty good among browser-style games. However, both new players and smaller countries struggle to compete. Also, a slightly nicer page design (like the other game) would be good. If this game were combined with an FPS style, it would probably break player records 🙂 I hope this games player base increases and we see people from more diverse countries. Also, a small gift from the Admin (something like 30-40k gold) would incredibly renew my hopes for this game 🙃
Q: Would you be willing to share a few pictures with us from your life outside the game?
A: Hm, why not I send you three random photos from my phone gallery. One is of Tazi Canyon in Antalya. Another is of the Ancient Library of Ephesus in Izmir and the third is a photo where I was caught on camera by chance.

After many years of friendship, it was an absolute honor to sit down and talk with Ali Rıza for this interview.
I am deeply grateful to him for his honest, passionate answers, and for the months he single-handedly kept Germany alive in my absence.
I truly hope you all enjoyed reading this interview!
Regards,
Kaveh
